JadeDragon's reviews and playing tips: Pocket PC games

Qtris, by Daniel Jackson (www.danieljackson.co.uk/pocketpc) Free
Reviewed April 2002

Qtris is a Tetris clone developed by Daniel Jackson for Pocket PC. If you share my belief that every Tetris fan should have a Tetris-like game on their handheld, then you will like this FREE game. Qtris has 4 difficulty levels which control how fast the blocks fall. The Easy level is very easy and the Impossible level is just impossible. There is a scoreboard and next piece preview just like in the original game. The next piece preview shows the next piece in a different rotation then when it first falls onto the screen, which is a bit confusing at first! The graphics are beautiful, sound is minimal. But nothing big will get in your way of enjoying hours of fun and action.

Playing Hints and Tips
Try different speed and pick the one that's most challenging yet not game-stopping level for you. The rotation of a piece in preview might be different from the actual rotation when it first falls, so pay attention.

Ratings (scale of 1 to 5):

Graphics Very pretty to look at. Polished graphics and smooth block movements.
Sound There are some sound effects. I like the arcade music a lot. Since this is Pocket PC, it'd be wonderful if we could get that music dubbed in to this game. But hey, don't forget this is a freeware.
Fun Meter For Tetris fans, a free Tetris game is all you need to have many hours of fun. The sad thing about a freeware is that you can't save your high scores so that you can compete with your friends.
Addictivity Very high replay value and easy to get hooked on.
