Sony has made some of the most innovative and feature-rich Palm OS PDAs. They brought multimedia and expansion slots to the Palm operating system and hardware design before Palm did. In the summer of 2004, Sony announced that they would no longer introduce new models in the US. Instead they will continued to introduce new models in Japan only. All models have Memory Stick expansion slots and rechargeable Lithium Ion batteries except the SL-10 which uses AAA batteries. Click on the model you're interested in below to read our review.

Sony Clié TJ27 Announced Feb. 10, 2004, this is Sony's update to the TJ25. It adds an integrated VGA digital camera and has 32 megs of RAM with 23 available to the user. It's an entry level PDA running Palm OS 5.2.1 on a 200 MHz processor and has a high res color display. It targets business users and doesn't have an MP3 player. Est. $199 US.
Sony Clié TJ37 Announced Feb. 10, 2004, this is Sony's update to the TJ35, and it's the big brother to the TJ27 above. It has an MP3 player, an integrated VGA digital camera and WiFi. It's an excellent mid-priced PDA running Palm OS 5.2.1 on a 200 MHz processor and has a high res color display. Est. $299 US.
Sony Clié TH55 Announced Feb., 2004. An upper mid-range handheld that offers a wealth of features. It has a 320 x 480 high res + display, an MP3 player, integrated VGA digital camera and WiFi. It's also relatively slim and light for a unit packing so many features. Runs Palm OS 5.2.1. Est. $399 US.
Sony Clié UX50 & UX40 These groundbreaking new units have landscape 480 x 320 displays, comfy keyboards, integrated WiFi and Bluetooth (Bluetooth only on the UX40) and will fit in your pocket. They look like super-miniaturized notebook computers. And don't forget Palm OS 5.2 and a VGA camera. Est. $599 for UX40 and $699 for UX50.
Sony Clié VZ90 This is the last PDA in the Sony lineup. Sony sells it only in Japan, having left the US market in 2004, but it's available from importers here in the US. It has an amazing 480 x 320 OLED (organic LED) landscape display, WiFi, strong multimedia and expansion features and runs Palm OS 5. It's largely in Japanese, though a freeware utility converts about 65% to English. $999 from Importers in the US.
Sony Clié TJ25 Announced Oct.1st, 2003, this was Sony's entry level PDA for the Fall of 2003. It runs Palm OS 5.2.1 on a 200 MHz processor with 16 megs of RAM and has a high res color display. It targets business users and doesn't offer advanced multimedia features. Est. $199 US.
Sony Clié TJ35 Announced Oct.1st, 2003, this and the TJ25 were Sony's Fall 2003 mid level PDAs. It runs Palm OS 5.2.1 on a 200 MHz processor with 32 megs of RAM and has a high res color display. It has an MP3 player. Est. $249 US.
Clié NX80V Released early July, 2003. The new top of the line NX. Palm OS 5, an XScale processor running at 200 MHz, hi-res transreflective display, MP3, 1.3 megapixel CCD digicam, integrated backlit keyboard, swiveling design and more. Est. $599 US
Clié NX73V Released late June, 2003. The new breed of NX series PDAs. Palm OS 5, an XScale processor running at 200 MHz, hi-res transreflective display, MP3, VGA digicam, integrated keyboard, swiveling design and more. Est. $499 US
Clié TG50 Color. Released March, 2003. Sony's first tablet design PDA with a built-in thumb keyboard and integrated flip cover. Palm OS 5, an XScale processor running at 200 MHz, hi-res transreflective display, MP3 and more. It has Bluetooth. Est. $399 US
Clié NZ90 Color. Announced Jan. 9, 2003, shipping mid-Feb. Think of this as an NX70V plus more toys. This new model has everything the NX70V offers, including Palm OS 5, an XScale processor running at 200 MHz, an amazing hi-res transreflective display, and more. It adds Bluetooth, a 2 megapixel digicam with flash, a better keyboard and a versatile cradle. Est. $799 US
Clié SJ33 High res color, MP3 player, 66 mhz Dragonball processor, Palm OS 4.1, 16 megs of RAM. Compact and attractive. Est. $299 US
Clié SJ22 High res color, 33 mhz Dragonball processor, 16 megs of RAM, Palm OS 4.1, compact. Sony's follow up to the sucessful SJ30, but priced $100 less than the SJ30. Est. $199 US
Clié SJ20 Monochrome. Came out just after the SL10 listed below and is the next step up.. It has a hi-res grayscale paper-white display, 16 megs of RAM and a rechargeable battery at a very reasonable price. Est. $199 US.
Clié NX70V and NX60 Color. The replacement for the highly popular and very cool NR70/NR70V models. These new models add Palm OS 5 and an ARM processor running at 200 MHz to the NR70 design. A cool flip/clamshell design, 16 megs of RAM, amazing hi-res transreflective display, MP3 player and an optional built-in camera. Est. $499-$599 US
Clié T665C Color. Lovely hi-res transreflective color display, 16 megs of RAM and a 66 mhz Dragonball processor, plus MP3 player. Est. $399 US
Clié SJ30 High res color, 33 mhz Dragonball processor, 16 megs of RAM, compact, great ergonomics and more from Sony's first affordable color PDA Est. list price was $299 US
Clié SL10 Monochrome. The latest low end black and white PDA from Sony. It has a hi-res grayscale display, 8 megs of RAM at a very reasonable price. Est. list was $149 US.
Clié NR70 and NR70V Color. A cool flip/clamshell design, 66 mhz Dragonball processor, 16 megs of RAM, amazing hi-res transreflective display, MP3 player and an optional built-in camera. Est. list price was $499-$599 US
