Bump Attack Pinball v. 1.1, by iambic $19.95
Reviewed April 2002

What an arcade would be without the pinball machines? So if you have a PDA arcade, you'd better have pinball games. Bump Attack, developed by iambic, gives you not one pinball table, but two: the Deep Sea Table and the Mars Table. The table size in this game is actually longer than your PDA screen, simulating the real pinball table. The tables travel with your ball movement, which gives you the realistic feel of an arcade table. When you play this game, you'll know that the game developers have put a lot of thought into game play. Each of the two tables have missions for you to accomplish. You will earn points by hitting certain areas of the table with the pinball. As you accumulate points, you'll go deeper into the mission. I really like the smooth ball movement in this game, which really resembles arcade pinball machines. A new version added the supports for high resolution on Sony Clié.

Playing Hints and Tips

On the Deep Sea table, there are a few places you want to hit at all times: the Wormhole, the Ramp and JP (jackpot) sign.
On the Mars table, you want to hit all the Ramps and UFO letters.

Ratings (scale of 1 to 5):

Graphics Great looking graphics, even when the table moves with the ball. Realistic table design.
Sound Plenty of arcade pinball like sound effects.
Fun Meter Realistic pinball design mixed with missions, Bump Attack is fun to play from the beginning to the end. Selection of two tables also makes it more attractive. I do hope that there will be more table designs coming out for this game.
Addictivity I don't have to sigh every time my pinball slips by the paddle cause I can just serve up another one, and another one. No quarters lost to me.
