Exodus v.1 by Craig McMahon www.craigsdomain.co.uk Free
Reviewed April 2002

Exodus is a puzzle game that will capture you from the first level to the last. Similar to BoxMan in concept, you will need to collect gems instead of moving boxes. To collect gems you must think ahead. Red boxes are movable, which provide you with accessible path and blocking tool. Blue Arrow blocks will move as soon as the gems are out of their way, which often are designed to trap you. As for the bridges, you can only cross them once, so plan ahead cause once you pass it you aren't going to come back. And the question mark blocks are just there to block your way and make your life harder. The free version of Exodus has functions like Restart level, which you will need frequently.

The game developer has released Exodus version 2, which is free for the first 8 levels out of 50 total. The new version includes real time block movement, new elements such as mines and monsters, and the ability to browse through the levels you've completed.

Playing Hints and Tips
After level 10, I started out by collecting the gems that don't make anything move to clear up the picture. This way you will have a better picture of which gem will move which blocks, and which path will be opened up or blocked off. This trick got me through the whole game. I did get stuck on level 18 (Confusion) and 20 (Destination Irritation!)

Ratings (scale of 1 to 5):

Graphics Cute graphics, very easy to see. Icons are sharp. How can you not like the little cute face?
Sound Other than the game opening and clicking sound, there aren't really many sound effects.
Fun Meter The game design is very creative. The difficulty level isn't so high that you have to put it down and think overnight. I did get stuck on a couple of levels, but eventually completed with a few tries. I went from level 1 to level 36 without putting it down. It was fun.
Addictivity I don't think I will play this game too often because once you figure out all the puzzles, you're done. But you do have 36 levels to figure out!
