Before your next trip to the local miniature
golf course, check out Mini-Golf on your handheld. Developed
by InterActive Vision and published by Global Star Software,
Mini-Golf is a great miniature golf simulation game for both
Palm and Pocket PC.
Mini-Golf offers 5 unique miniature golf
courses: Garden, Golf Club, Desert, Moon and Mars, each has
its own unique theme. With total 90 holes in the game, you
can try all your angle and bank shots right in the palm of
your hands. The precise stylus interface and accurate ball
physics make this game fun to play. You use the stylus to
pinpoint where you want the ball to go and hold the Shoot
button to indicate the speed. Other than the various shapes,
curves, water holes, lava pits and speed bumps on the course,
you will see other distractions and obstacles such as windmills
that blow at the golf ball and magnets that suck the golf
ball. And of course, if you are a miniature golf pro, you
can use all of these to your advantage. It is not hard to
master control of the golf ball. The hard thing is to be
creative and make the putts in the fewest possible strokes.
If you don't get the ball in the hole within 7 strokes, you're
automatically moved to the next hole.
The graphics on both Pocket PC and Palm
are beautiful with different theme styles to fit the golf
courses. But it doesn't use the screen in the most efficient
way on the Pocket PC; only 2/3 of the screen is used for
the game scene. Sound effects fit the game well. Controlling
the ball with the stylus is a breeze. The files sizes are
2.5MB on Pocket PC and 900KB on Palm.
When you purchase the game in a retail
store you will get both Palm OS and Pocket PC versions in
one package, and the Palm version supports both color and
grayscale devices.
