Try (don't buy) VolumeCare. It works great for the Treo (which it was meant for it) but it might do the trick. TomTom Navigator couldn't relay the instructions on my Palm speakers before but when I used VolumeCare, I could now hear it easily. This is a software workaround, and will not work if there's an issue with the speakers. That's why I said try it first, because it may or may not work.
