Most folks take the cards out when not using them because they stick out and to prevent them from consuming power (they can consumer a little bit of power even when the PDA is off). So it shoudn't be a problem-- they're designed to be inserted and removed frequently. SD card slots use a spring mechanism that pops the card out, that's why it feels easier.
