I totally agree- setting up Windows connection sharing can be a hassle, while access points are generally very easy to set up. And if you're using ad hoc mode, you'll need to keep your PC turned on so it can serve the Internet connection to the PDA which negates some of the benefit of using a PDA rather than a PC. . . no saving electricity and no independance from that PC.
