Re: Sick Macbooks - Apple MacBook Problems and Solutions

Try what Lisa said, and you might have to do the Repair Permissions more than once to get it to boot from the hard drive. These Macbook are about as finicky as any computer I've ever owned. It's seriously causing me doubts in buying a new one next month. And anything that features a kernel extension, which you usually won't know about when you install a new program, can and usually will cause a kernel panic and random shutdown followed by a restart. I have a video editing program that I use to snap Sega Saturn video and I save every minute or so because at any second, down it goes. If that doesn't fix you up, post back here and I'll see what else I can think of. I've honestly had so many problems with this Macbook that I could almost write a book. : )
