Verizon Wireless announced today the expansion of its V CAST Mobile TV service into Gainesville and Ocala, giving residents the freedom to leave their homes and still watch their favorite TV programs while on-the-go. The new service was launched nationally in select markets earlier this year, including Jacksonville, Orlando and Tampa Bay. In addition to today?s launch in Gainesville and Ocala, the service was introduced in Naples and Fort Myers, with additional Florida markets planned for this year. V CAST Mobile TV features live content and other programming 24 hours a day from well-known entertainment brands, including CBS, Comedy Central, ESPN, Fox, MTV, NBC News, NBC Entertainment, and Nickelodeon, representing a variety of options for all TV viewers. The programming is presented in ?time block?/scheduled availability, consistent with familiar cable and satellite TV models. ?V CAST Mobile TV makes it possible to watch your favorite shows while sunbathing on the beach, or waiting for a flight at the airport, or wherever it?s convenient,? said Pam Tope, Florida region president for Verizon Wireless. ?This is an innovative service, with quality programming, backed by the strength and reliability of our network in Florida.? Two V CAST Mobile TV-enabled handsets are currently available: the LG VX9400 for $199.99 and the Samsung SCH-u620 for $149.99 (both with a new two-year customer agreement). Monthly access packages range from $13 to $25 per month. For more information, visit the dedicated V CAST Mobile TV Web site at www.verizonwireless.com/mobiletv.
