Here comes HTC's second Android Google OS phone with HTC's own Sense user interface. The Tattoo is compact and light, and reminds us of a chin-less MyTouch 3G. Alas, the Tattoo loses the usual HTC Android trackball for a round d-pad style controller. And at 2.8" with QVGA 240 x 320 resolution, it's lower res than the G1, MyTouch 3G and HTC Hero. Unlike other Android phones we've seen so far, this one has a resistive rather than capacitive touch screen. The Tattoo looks like the budget version of Android phones we've seen so far from HTC and Samsung. It will first be released in Europe this October and will make it's way around the world in the following months. No word yet on US carrier availability. In terms of specs, the Tattoo is your typical Android phone with: 528MHz CPU 256 megs RAM 512 megs flash ROM 3.2 megapixel camera 3.5mm headset jack-- yay! Bluetooth, WiFi and an SDHC microSD card slot 1100 mAh Lithium Ion battery FM radio - |
