Well this just isn't fair, is it? Probably a half million folks couldn't order an iPhone 4 to save their lives while others are receiving it 2 days ahead of the official release. This time Apple isn't making UPS and FedEx hold up shipments so that everyone gets their shiny new phone on the same day. This is the first time a new iPhone arrived in users' hands before the reviews from the New York Times, Wallstreet Journal and USA Today surfaced. The iPhone 4 sure has been a mess from a leaked device to a failed WWDC demo to a disastrous pre-order system collapse and now a less than controlled product release.
How we wish we were among the lucky few, but we're not. A fellow on MacRumors who lives in the San Francisco Bay area did receive his today, and took photos to prove it, using the iPhone 4 and a mirror to manage the trick (he had no camera work, where the phone was delivered). Looking at those photos, the camera isn't all that much better on the new model.
Many pre-order purchasers are reporting that their phone has arrived at the FedEx facility in Forth Worth, TX and is scheduled for delivery tomorrow. Unless you're beyond all this iPhone madness, don't expect to see much on the Interwebs that isn't iPhone 4 related .
