Video review: Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 mini and X10 mini Pro

Sony Ericsson's Xperia X10 mini and X10 mini Pro phones are distant cousins to the relatively large and high end Sony Ericsson Xpera X10 Android smartphone. As you might guess, the mini models are small, in fact quite small. The X10 mini weighs only 3.1 ounces and fits easily in the palm of a hand. The X10 mini pro isn't much larger, though it is thicker since it has a rather capable slide-out QWERTY keyboard.

Both run Android OS 1.6 (yes, that OS is getting old) and Sony Ericsson's custom TimeScape software that jazzes up social networking and changes the standard Android home screen. Sony Ericsson's changes make a lot of sense on the mini phones since they have small, low resolution QVA displays.

Both phones will be sold unlocked and are quad band GSM with 3G HSDPA on AT&T's 3G bands (it's EDGE only for T-Mobile US). Sony Ericsson hasn't yet announced price and release date, though we expect they won't be terribly expensive.

The phones have a decent 5 megapixel autofocus camera with flash, a GPS, WiFi and Bluetooth.
