Well, if you got a third-party HDMI cable for iPad 1, it didn't support HDCP, meaning if you tried to use it to play iTunes HD content, you would get the same error message you got with Apple's VGA adaptor ("Unauthorized display connected" or whatever). I'm hoping Apple's own HDMI adaptor doesn't have this limitation.

If you got grandfathered into the unlimited AT&T data plan on the iPad 1, do you lose the plan if you upgrade to iPad 2?
