Droid Incredible 2 by HTC Video Review, a Good Thing Gets Better

I know some of you have been thinking that the HTC Droid Incredible 2 isn't an incredible upgrade from the original Droid Incredible. Honestly, there are some mightly fine incremental upgrades here, including a second generation 1GHz Snapdragon CPU that's mucho faster than the first gen CPU used in the original Incredible, a front 1.3MP video chat camera, 720p video recording and a larger display. It's also a world phone with a GSM radio and SIM card for international roaming. Not all that shabby.

But Verizon and HTC aren't aiming this phone at Incredible 1 owners. After all, you bought your phone a year ago or less and aren't even at the end of your 2 year contract. And it's a fine phone that's aged well-- no wonder it's been one of Verizon's top selling phones, and one of the top 5 selling smartphones in the US according to NPD. The Incredible 2 is instead a lovely upgrade from an older or lower end Android smartphone like the Droid Eris or a feature phone.

That said, the Incredible 2's biggest competition likely comes from HTC's own
Thunderbolt, a 4G Android smartphone with 4.3" display that costs $50 more.

The Incredible 2 is available now for $199 with contract.

Specs:
1GHz second gen Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU with Adreno 205 graphics
16 gig microSD card in the box, 1 gig internal storage
8 MP rear camera with dual LED flash and front 1.3MP camera
4", 800 x 480 Super LCD
GPS, Bluetooth and WiFi 802.11b/g/n
3G EV-DO Rev. A
World phone with GSM SIM card slot for international roaming
