A San Francisco artist has released a beautiful leather envelope case for the iPad 2 and iPad 1. The Envelope Case, designed by Gustavo Pastre, is handmade in San Francisco. It's constructed with industrial strength contact cement and metal rivets. The thick side of the case has a fabric lining to protect the glass surface. The other side is of thinner leather that stretches to hold the iPad firm. The flap is held closed with hemp twine, and has a pocket that can be used to hold cards, a shammy, The Mustache Stand or whatnot. The second is black and gray leather with silver rivets.The third is a Kickstarter exclusive. It is black and red leather with silver rivets, and an engraving of an eagle. In addition to the Envelope Case, the artist also makes the Leather Skins for the iPad 2 in red and grey with different engravings on the back, and a leather skin case for the iPhone 4. ![]() ![]() Availability and pricing The Envelope Case is part of the Kickstarter project where you can donate money to get a case. The brown color version starts at $65 and the red version costs $75.
