Verizon to Allows Mobile Payments on Tablets and Smartphones

Verizon Wireless and Payfone today announced the companies are working together to bring a new mobile payment system to Verizon Wireless customers. When available, the service will allow Verizon Wireless customers to make online purchases from their smartphones, tablets as well as PCs using numerous payment methods, including charging purchases to their monthly wireless statements or using traditional payment methods through financial institution partners. Here is more info:

Once Payfone services link a consumer to a merchant through a one-time SMS PIN verification, the consumer can make all subsequent transactions using a patent pending "one-click" payment. SmartBill eliminates the need to authenticate every purchase using a PIN code via SMS.

SmartBill allows you to offer consumers payment options like subscription, try before you buy, freemium, gifting, pay-per event and many more. You also can offer consumers the ability to pay with credit card, debit card or bank account so regardless of what method of payment the consumer chooses, you can be sure that the transaction is completed.
