HP Movie Store now live on HP TouchPad Tablet

Isn't in nice when a company lives up to their promises? HP's Stephen DeWitt promised that both the Amazon Kindle app and the HP Movie Store would go live this week, and indeed we got Kindle yesterday and the Movie Store late today. The store is powered by RoxioNow (not to be confused with Roxio, we've been told), and it offers a selection of TV shows and Movies for purchase and rental.

TV shows sell for $1.99 per episode, and there's a decent but not yet exceptional selection that includes Fringe, The Walking Dead, Leverage and Human Target. The storefront for shows is highly graphical and pleasing, and there's a search button to save time.

Movies run from $9.95 to $15.95 from what we've perused so far, with recent releases costing the most. You can rent movies for $2.99- $3.99. There's a solid selection, and a trailer for each movie that's decent in quality. If a movie isn't available yet, you can add it to your wish list.

After an odd HP TouchPad tablet soft release on the first of July and a supposed real release on the 17th, we're extremely happy to see HP sticking to it's promised target for these apps. At this rate, I'm sure we'll see those OS updates soon!
