The HTC Rezound is a member of Verizon Wireless' "big three" group of high end Android smartphones for the holiday 2011 season. It joins the Motorola Droid RAZR and Samsung Galaxy Nexus and has top specs: it's the US' first 720p smartphone display, it has a fast 1.5gHz dual core CPU, LTE 4G and a promised upgrade to Android OS 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
The Droid RAZR is incredibly thin and stylish, befitting the RAZR moniker, while the 720p Galaxy Nexus is also slim and is a pure Google experience phone that will launch with Ice Cream Sandwich. That's tough competition for the Rezound, whose strongest selling points are a sturdy build, strong LTE reception in weaker coverage areas and a bundled pair of matching red iBeats earbuds. Think of the HTC Rezound as the sleeper whose appeal grows after you've had issues with other Verizon phones' LTE 4G reception, or found the RAZR's Super AMOLED display not sharp enough.
