CES: Fulton Innovation Showcases Wireless Charging Technology for Smartphones and Tablets

At CES 2012, Fulton Innovation will demo their eCoupled technology that allows charging your mobile devices wireless anywhere. eCoupled technology is intelligent wireless power based on inductive coupling that allows for safe and efficient power transfer without wires. The magnetic charging solution can be installed under a table, inside of your car or anywhere at home. Simple put your smartphone or tablet on the tablet or kitchen counter or car pocket near the charging station, your devices will charge wirelessly via near field magnetic power induction. Here is more info on this cool wireless charing solution:

Fulton has demonstrated charging through a variety of surfaces including wood, granite, laminate, glass, plastic, and metal.

eCoupled allows you to charge your phones, tablets and other devices through a varity of surfaces including wood, granite, laminate, glass, plastic and even metal. The technology is not a proprietary system and meets the Qi standard. Any Qi-compliant surface or charging device, will work with any Qi-compliant device, regardless of brand.

Features:

. Adapts to multiple loads and can charge or power devices from milliwatts to kilowatts.
. Is efficient, optimizing power transfer at 98% (at 120 volts/1.4 kW) which is better than most AC adapters.
. Meets the Qi global standard for low-powered devices set by the Wireless Power Consortium.
. Will shut-off automatically if an interfering object or non-eCoupled device is present.
. Stops providing power once the device is fully charged, reducing energy waste.
. Is a single power source for a multitude of eCoupled or Qi-enabled devices.
. Can be built directly into devices, without the need for extra sleeves or cases.
. Is integrated in more than 1.5 million devices in the marketplace for more than a decade.
