Lenovo ThinkPad X230 Full Review: Ivy Bridge Goodness

Lenovo's Intel Ivy Bridge third generation ThinkPad X230 is finally here, and it still has no rivals in the powerhouse ultraportable arena in terms of build quality and price. For those of you who like the idea of an Ultrabook but need more processing power than those ULV machines offer, the ThinkPad X230 beckons. At 3.3 lbs. with a 12.5" display and a keyboard to die for, it's a true road warrior with an Intel Core i5 2.6GHz CPU and refreshingly good Intel HD 4000 graphics. The machine can handle 3D gaming and all manner of video playback, not to mention serious work.

Other goodies include USB 3.0 ports, a mini DisplayPort, optional 4G LTE, a backlit keyboard (plus the ThinkLight) and a durable metal roll cage. We heartily recommend the IPS display option that's reasonably priced and affords wide viewing angles, great colors and 300 nits of brightness. The Lenovo ThinkPad X230 gets our Editor's Choice award and it goes on sale June 5th.
