Samsung Galaxy S III owners with U.S. Cellular will be able to begin updating their devices with the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update this Friday, Dec. 21. Here's more info: ![]() Features and benefits of the new update: New User Interface Android 3.0 is a new version of the Android platform that is specifically optimized for devices with larger screen sizes, particularly tablets. You will see many changes that will make your tablet experience even better. Updated Applications Many applications including the Browser, Camera and Gallery as well as Contacts and Email have been updated for a large screen device. New System Bar A new System Bar showing the device status and notifications that will show at the bottom of the screen giving you quick access to notifications. Quick Access to Recent Applications A Recent Apps list is now included in the system bar so you can quickly switch between applications for easy multitasking. New Widgets New 3D experience widgets that not only provide live data, but also allow you to swipe change the size of many widgets and interact directly with the widget.
