We've spent a solid month with the Dell XPS 12, and have found more to like about it with each passing week. The carbon fiber, aluminum and magnesium chassis is put together with extreme attention to detail and the easel hinge that allows the full HD touch screen to flip and rotate has remained solid. This is a Windows 8 convertible tablet-Ultrabook that runs on full Intel Core i5 and i7 CPUs with your choice of a fast Samsung PM830 128 or 256 gig SSD. The full 1920 x 1080 IPS display has 400 nits of brightness and is colorful and razor sharp.
The Dell XPS 12 starts at $1,199 and it weighs 3.35 pounds. It has Dell's usual excellent XPS backlit island style keyboard and a roomy trackpad for those times when you're not in the mood to touch the screen.
