Samsung Makes Galaxy S4 mini Official

Giant smartphones not your thing? Samsung hears you, and their answer is the Samsung Galaxy S4 mini that was relatively quietly announced today. The specs aren't quite as good as the full size Galaxy S4, but for a 4.3" Android smartphone, they're OK. The mini will run Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with the usual Samsung TouchWiz software. Rather than the quad core CPU found on its bigger brother, the Galaxy S4 mini will run on a 1.7GHz dual core CPU with 1.5 gigs of RAM. It has a qHD 4.3" AMOLED display.

The Galaxy S4 mini has a rear 8MP camera with some of the nifty features and modes found on the full size S4, and a 1.9MP front camera. It has an IR port and Samsung's WatchOn for your TV viewing pleasure, and the usual Samsung apps like ChatON, Group Play and Samsung Link. It will be available in frost white and black mist.
