sdio and cf wlan card?

hiya.. i just cant figure out what the difference between the sdio wireless lan card and the normal compact flash wireless lan card is.
the price of the sdio is twice as expensive as the normal cf card.
if someone could enlighten me on this.

thanks.

Re: sdio and cf wlan card?

SD and CF cards are two different kinds of cards that look different and fit into different slots. SD cards are smaller and most all PDAs have SD slots (many of which support SDIO). Some Pocket PCs have CF slots, which are larger than SD.

Re: sdio and cf wlan card?

SD means it's an SD card and IO stands for Input/Output- an age old term (by computer standards) which means the device can handle communications such as networking. So all SD WiFi cards use SDIO.
