Skype over WiFi on Nokia N810

I have a Nokia N810 and want to use it as a Skype phone. I think I can get it work by connecting it to my router but there are lots of networks around. Can I set up an adhoc conenction to my PC and go through that insted? Would that be better when it's very busy?

You can use an ad hoc connection but it's no faster than connecting directly to your wifi router. In fact, ad hoc is usually a little slower.
