Re: mp3's on treo 600

You will need to store MP3s on a card. You can do it via syncing, but a card reader is much faster.

Yes, the newest versions of Palm desktop support it.

Re: mp3's on treo 600 - how to get them back to PC?

You should be able to access them using Palm Desktop on your computer.

Re: internet connections

Do you mean you'd like the Treo to have Internet access while in the cradle or that you want the Treo to act as a wireless modem for your PC?

thanks for the excellent play by play. very useful for the beginner geeks like myself (on my way to super-geek though, just wait!)
why is it that i cant find any of these audio files that i keep sending to the 256 sd card on this phone? i followed your steps exactly, where are the sneaky little guys hiding?
many thanks

Can anyone also comment on this? I have the same issue. When I transfer mp3's to the SD card, they are NOT found by the Palm OS. I have installed RealOne player and it however can see the music on the card regardless. The OS can't read the SD card and can't delete stuff either. Can anyone comment on this? Upgrade available? Separate software? Anyone please? This has been my only solid source of info. Thanks very much to anyone who can answer this.

Re: mp3's on treo 600 _ WOOOOHOOOOO!!!!!

I have just found out that its an issue with the size of SD card being used. A friend of mine let me quickly borrow his SD card, his was 128MB and it was found and I was able to view the files on it. So anything larger than a 128MB card cannot be read. Is there a patch that anyone knows about that could fix this issue?

Re: mp3's on treo 600 _ WOOOOHOOOOO!!!!!

I have a 1GB card in a Treo 600 and have no problems playing with PocketTunes. You can "see" the MP3s with 3xcom (a file manager for Palm- assume other such managers allow too). I copy files onto SD card with Card Export II which allows Treo to be used as USB thumb drive. Card Export is "must have" bit of software as far as I can see- not sure why Palm doesn't already include capability.

Ummm...

Quote:

To clarify previous posts:

Connect stereo headphones, all audio automatically routes to the headphones.
Connect Mono headset, all audio (except phonecalls) are routed to the internal speaker.

I grabbed an old pair of headphones from a walkman, cut off the old 3.5mm stereo plug and soldered a 2.5mm stereo plug on them. Works like a charm!

That didn't work on mine! I even have a pair of stereo headphones with a 2.5mm jack and it didn't offer any sound whatsoever!

What gives?

Re: Ummm...

Not all stereo 2.5mm headsets have the same ring alignment on the connector and that might be your problem Hibuke. I use the 2.5mm stereo headset with mic included with the Audiovox SMT 5600 on my Treo and it works like a charm. However, the Motorola stereo headset mic for the MPx220, V710 and etc will not work because Moto uses a different ring placement in their headset plug and jack.

Re: MP3's in the car

I haven't seen a kit for this. You'd need a 2.5mm stereo adapter compatible with the Treo, and I don't know of one. Anybody else seen one?

Re: mp3's on treo 600

Why not try out the real player for Treo

It is free and works on Troe 600 without difficulty
