I have a TREO 600 with t-mobile service. Although I bought it unlocked but later updated the firmware to 3.05 and the phone got locked again. I have the patch free of cost for anyone who request it.
USE IT AT YOUR OWN RISK.
It worked for me.

I'm going to buy a treo 600 Phone. I'm from Germany and the Phone is locked by Orange Switzerland. My question: is it possible to unlock it, so i can use ist whit T-mobile?

I downloaded an upgrade and my phone got locked.

Also, I was wondering if I can utilize my phone for the palm pilot side of it wihtout having to pay for an account through sprint. I currently use verizon and dont know how to conform my phone to work with verizon. Though I have heard stories that it can be done.
Any advice?

I was looking at tutorials for unlocking treo 650 and treo 600, it's cost about $7 for the 600, but you can research more there. http://www.fasttutorial.com

The way this works is that you need a master code or unlock code. This code is based off of your IMEI and network code. Then, to enter the code you need to type I believe... * # * #<8 number code>#
In the word form...
<Star, Pound, Star, Pound, <8 digit code generated off of the IMEI aka unlock code>, Pound.
I'm still working on this code to figure how it is generated. I checked here for some sort of insight.
Usually you can call the place you purchased it at or your service provider and get it unlocked, but very often you will have to call several times to speak to the right person who isn't afraid to give you that information.
Unlocking phones IS legal. You purchase the phone and you purchase the service. They usually show lots of slack on phone prices to buy their service, but the service providers don't make the phones, just purchase them. Motorola makes for many cellular carriers, just because Cingular payed for it and to be locked/"optimized" for their service doesn't make it theres.
Also, many people like to look on-line for an unlock code because they hate dealing with sales people. They do have you jump through a lot of hoops just to get a phone unlocked.
As for the countries go, you'd have to speak to dealers in those areas about their service.

No, the GSM Treo won't work on Sprint (or Verizon's) CDMA network.

I have a AT&T Treo 600 I bought on ebay that was supposed to be unlocked and when I put any SIM card into it it says it doesn't recognize it. What can I do to fix this. I tried one code I saw on here with the *#*# thing and it then told me the sim was locked. Anyone with info please help. Thanks
