my virtual serial ports are being mysteriously used...(zire 72)

I Recently bought a zire 72, took it home and got it all set up for a bluetooth hotsync.
I created a virtual serial port as the instructions say (in this case it was port 3.)

everything is going well, the computer and palm recognized eachother with no problem, but then in the middle of the sync it said "port in use by another application."

I go back and check if I accidentally assigned port 3 to something else, but I didn't.

So I naturally created a few more ports (4-7) and each one had the same error.

not only that but I Was at my friend's house where there was not a bluetooth connection in range, and I tapped the hotsync button by accident, and lo and behold I got the same error, but then again how would my PDA know?

anyone know how to correct this problem?

here are my specs
win XP sp1
D-link bluetooth adaptor.

thanks in advance

I'd try soft reseting the Zire to reboot it. That might fix your problem. You can also try turning off IR on the Zire just in case they're trying to use the same port.
