What to get for a writer

Hello..I've been doing research on numerous products and was interested in what everyone else thought would be good for a writer. I've looked into the Jornada, Mobilepro, Palm Pilot with a folding keyboard, Alphasmart, and a couple others.

The vast majority of what I'll be doing is word processing. My main concerns are durability, reliability, an easy-to-read screen and decent memory storage would be nice. I came very close to buying an Alphasmart recently, though I read some bad reviews and decided to look a little more before I committed to one.

In short, what would you recommend for the above preferences? I'm trying to avoid a full-size laptop mainly due to cost.

Any help is very much appreciated.

Re: What to get for a writer

The MobilePro has an excellent keyboard that's perfect for a writer. It's almost like using a notebook in that respect. They should be available cheap used too.
