Gmail issues going to xv6900
|
|
I had this problem before and this site helped me out with it. When I get gmail on my phone it comes in fine, but as soon as I hit 'send recieve' all of the messages in my inbox disappear. The remedy I got before was to type in "recent:" somewhere during the set up process, I just forgot where to put it and in exactly what format.
Can someone tell me? Then I'll write it down

Okay, I figured it out on my own. For anyone else experiencing this, just put recent: in front of the user name.
Next question, can I watch Youtube / flash player vides on this XV6900? Hopefully someone answers this one.

Glad you got the gmail issue figured out and thanks for sharing it with us.
It's been a while since I reviewed the XV6900, but I seem to recall that it plays mobile youtube-- http://m.youtube.com . Very few phones can handle full Flash and desktop youtube-- some Nokia S60 phones, the HTC Touch Diamond being the ones that come to mind. There are hacks to enable full youtube playback on Windows Mobile phones that involve installing a few hacks and a modified version of the TCPMP video player.

Yo, thanks LisaG.
I went to m.youtube like you have and no dice. Says "an unknown error 0X8007274D has ocurred".
Bummer. I really like this phone, miles above the 6700. One semi-con, the typing. I wish they had on screen touch set up like the iphone. the keypad and keyboard typing is a set back when you're used to hitting a button once compared to twice or three times to get the digit or letter you want. Any ideas there? Any software I could put on it to ket a keyboard big enough for fingers? The current keyboard is too small and you need the stylus to use it.

Resco sells a software keyboard that has a skin that does a good job mimicking the iPhone's keyboard.

So I bought the resco software, pretty cool. One question, how do I disable the auto correct / words suggestions? I've set them to off on my phone (under the options menus), but it will still happen with some of the keyboard options. I was using the 'Touch Keyboard" and it didn't do it on that option once I switched it to off, but it's still doing it with Resco and the touch Keypad (which I don't use). Any ideas?
