MobileTechReview (MTR) introduces a new section on the site: The Bloggers Corner! It will largely be an idiosyncratic selection of topics chosen by our reviewers and editors. They will follow their own passion and curiosities in these blog entries. I know that we all would love to hear your comments and feedback on these entries. So don't be shy. Our first entry is written by no other than our Tanker Bob. While everyone is on the hot trail of Windows Vista launch, Tanker Bob took another path: moving from Windows to Linux. Follow the link below to Tanker Bob's The Vista Out My Windows. Here is a small section to wet your appetite: "Freedom Bottom line: I haven't used the Windows dual-boot since December (actually only once at all just to ensure that it worked), only use the Windows virtual machine to ActiveSync my Dell Axim X50v and access Logos Bible software, and have thoroughly enjoyed my Linux experience. I even have full read/write access to the entire Windows NTFS drive from Linux. Oh, and except for the virtual machine software, the operating system and all my software has been free. This is a keeper. I control my computer, not the MPAA or RIAA, and there's no Microsoft DRM or OCP to prevent my legal CDs and DVDs from playing?I'm free, and freedom tastes of reality." http://www.mobiletechreview.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Board=tankerbobblog&Number=26899 |
