Fujitsu today announced a new color for its popular ultra-light P7230 notebook line: pink. Here is more info:

"Fujitsu added fashion, flair and energy efficiency to its ultra-light notebook line today announcing a limited edition thistle pink LifeBook P7230 notebook that complies with the newest ENERGY STAR version 4.0 standards in advance of the July deadline. Weighing less than three pounds with a slim 1.17-inch silhouette and a 10.6-inch bright Crystal View wide screen display, the LifeBook P7230 notebook is one of the industry's smallest and lightest full-featured notebooks with a built-in media bay.

For mobile professionals who prefer a more classic look, the LifeBook P7230 notebook is also available with a leather black chassis. The LifeBook P7230 notebook is now offered with the Intel Core Duo U2500 Ultra Low Voltage Processor (only available on the leather black model) for advanced mobile performance, as well as the energy-efficient Intel Core Solo U1400.

The LifeBook P7230 notebook combines performance with portability offering a built-in modular bay that accepts a Dual-Layer Multi-Format DVD Writer, weight-saver module or second battery that delivers up to nine hours of computing time for extra long workdays. Battery life is also extended with the Fujitsu ECO button, a proprietary power-saving mode that with a single press reduces power consumption for components, including disabling the optical disk drive and reducing the display brightness.

The LifeBook P7230 notebook, which comes standard with the Windows Vista Home Premium operating system, is equipped with an LED-lit Crystal View XGA TFT wide format display offering 16 million colors for a rich and vibrant viewing experience. Digital dual array built-in microphones and dual built-in stereo speakers offer outstanding audio. Furthermore, the optional built-in 1.3 MP webcam, centered above the display for comfortable video calls and conferences while on the road, is now provided at no additional charge.

The LifeBook P7230 notebook is fully secure with data security that includes an integrated biometric fingerprint swipe sensor, an embedded Trusted Platform Module (TPM), which can store data file passwords and keys on a microchip, and a security lock slot.

Data is further protected with the Fujitsu Shock Sensor utility, a sophisticated accelerometer-based hard drive protection system that retracts the hard drive head if a sudden movement or vibration is detected, reducing the possibility of a head crash and potential loss of data. The sensor can also be set to password-lock the system if it is touched, preventing unauthorized access to the data.

The LifeBook P7230 notebook offers a variety of flexible communication options including the integrated V.90 modem, the Gigabit Ethernet LAN, the Intel PRO/Wireless Network Connection (Tri-Mode 802.11 a/b/g) wireless LAN or Atheros Super AG Wireless LAN (only available on the leather black model). A complete array of industry standard ports includes two conveniently placed USB 2.0 ports, an IEEE 1394 port, full-sized video port, modem, LAN, and audio in and out jacks for quick connections. Accessing, storing or transferring photo, music, data or video files is easy via a dedicated Secure Digital (SD)/Memory Stick PRO/xD card slot. An available port replicator provides desktop convenience and simplified cable management.
