Lenovo's MacBook Air competitor might not be as darned thin and pretty but it's got plenty of ports and a DVD burner too. The X300 weighs 3 lbs. and features a 13.3" LED backlit display plus the usual excellent ThinkPad keyboard. Clad in a soft-touch black finish the notebook feels great in hand and is quite thin at 0.73"- 1" thick. A 64 gig SSD drive is standard for fast boot times, speedier overall performance and absolute shock tolerance but brings the price tag to a baseline $3,000. This "ThinkPad Lite" has a 1.2GHz Core 2 Duo CPU, 2 gigs of RAM, a webcam, 3 USB ports, optional internal Verizon EVDO rev. A networking and an optional dual layer DVD burner. A must read for the well-heeled road warrior.
