We're giving away an HTC Fuze- Contest

Hi guys and gals, here's your chance to win an HTC Fuze. We're giving away one Windows Mobile HTC Fuze touch screen phone, and all you need do is reply to this post with your answers to our question.

Question: What 3 features are most important to you in a smartphone?

The Fuze is locked to AT&T, so keep that in mind if you're not an AT&T customer.

The contest is open to anyone in the US and Canada.

The contest starts right now and will end on Tuesday, Dec. 23 2008 at 9PM EST. We'll contact the winner via email (the one you used to register for our forum) and ask for your shipping address so we can ship you the prize.

Not sure what a Fuze is? Here's our review of the HTC Fuze: http://www.mobiletechreview.com/phones/HTC-Fuze.htm

Also visit HTC's microsite dedicated to the Fuze-- informative stuff and they're also giving away a Fuze a day for 120 days along with some very large cash prizes!!
Check it out here: http://win.howifuze.com

Good luck to all!

Re: We're giving away an HTC Fuze- Contest

Thanks Mobile Tech Review for this awesome contest!
The 3 features that are most important in a smartphone for me are:

1. Wi-Fi Connectivity - I'm on a college campus all day that provides free WiFi to students and as such it is very important to me to be able to get online at any time of the day to check email or my favorite forums. Also with Wi-Fi comes GPS which can sure be handy when it comes to finding your way around a college town.

2. QWERTY keyboard (& Camera) - These two go together for me because I tend to do a lot of texting throughout the day (sometimes involve sending of pictures) and with my big fingers a slide-out keyboard helps me to be accurate when I type.

3. Expansion Slot - I like to double my phone as a music player while I walk to class; therefore I need a lot of space to store my music and with an expansion slot I gain all the extra space I need for my favorite tunes.

Re: We're giving away an HTC Fuze- Contest

1. Good sliding QWERTY keyboard
2. Good screen (won't take anything less than a 2.8in VGA)
3. Speed (I'll take some hits from battery life for more power)

Re: We're giving away an HTC Fuze- Contest

1) A physical QWERTY. Maybe I havent used an iPhone enough, but I always have the hardest time typing on its touchscreen.

2) Wifi. I have the hardest time finding good phones from providers because not many of them have wifi. Sometimes its just easier to use wifi inside a building when theres no reception, and it used to be a godsend when I didn thave unlimited data.

3)mini-USB port. My brother had a Blackjack, and he didnt have the freedom to charge the phone from anywhere. I have an HTC so when I need to charge in school, I just whip out a regular USB/miniUSB cable. Also, I can just use it to store files. All HTC phones are like this, and its my favorite feature.

Re: We're giving away an HTC Fuze- Contest

1) definitely full physical QWERTY with good feel to the keys...preferably sliding if it doesn't make the phone too chunky

2) high processor speed and a fast and accurate html browser would be a big bonus as well

3) good touch screen in terms of size and resolution

Re: We're giving away an HTC Fuze- Contest

1) Call quality - it's still a phone, right?

2) Comfortable text input - it can be physical or virtual, just so long as it works well.

3) High quality screen - good size and resolution

Re: We're giving away an HTC Fuze- Contest

My top three smartphone requirements:

1. Right now, whatever smartphone I have must run Windows Mobile. It's not that I don't see the benefits of some of the other platforms, or that I think Window Mobile is the end-all of mobile operating systems, but I am presently tied to a single piece of Windows Mobile software: PocketBible by Laridian. I have eight years of personal notes in my PocketBible database that will be lost unless Laridian devises a way to move them to another platform's Bible software. This has been the single biggest factor keeping me from moving to a Symbian device.
2. It must provide quick access to all critical system controls, either by hardware buttons or Today Screen/Task Bar/Tray icons. I hate digging into nested menus or screens just to get to the Wireless Manager, for example, when a quick press of a button should do it.
3. It must have a useable hardware keyboard. I just can't seem to get comfortable with software thumboards (though I admit that I haven't yet tried the iPhone's). Transcriber is pretty reliable, but it still requires too much back tracking to make minor corrections. Small screen keyboards that require a stylus are just intolerable in any incarnation.

Re: We're giving away an HTC Fuze- Contest

1. A wide QWERTY keyboard. The thinner ones on most candy bar smart-phones don't cut it. Although they're easier than T9, they're really irritating to use.
2. Wi-fi. Although 3G is fast, it's just not available in a lot of places yet, like my home. I need Wi-Fi so I can actually use my phones internet when I'm not out and about.
3. Excellent processor speed. It wouldn't really be a smart phone without speed. I don't want to click on something and have to wait for it to load too long. When I'm on my mobile, I am typically not lounging on a sofa, I don't want my phone to go at a leisurely pace.

Thank you for this contest!

Easy question....

1. Email Connectivity: My Co. uses Lotus Notes on BES so my choices are somewhat limited.
2. Full QWERTY keyboard: I've got an Ipod Touch and can't type worth a d@mn on that screen
3. Wi-Fi: I'm always online. No WiFi-No go for me.

Multimedia capability

Re: We're giving away an HTC Fuze- Contest

1. HSDPA/HSUPA/UMTS: Particularly the 850/1900 MHz bands allowing for internet access wherever there is a 3G signal.

2. Wi-fi: Wi-fi is particularly useful when there is not very good 3G coverage and is good for accessing your home network and/or school network without worrying about limits on data and/or performance issues from too many users using the 3G network.

3. 3.5 mm headphone jack: It is nice to not worry about bringing along your headphone adapters when you are out and about with your mobile phone, just bring your favorite set of headphones and your mobile device and you are good to go enjoying music in its pristine quality.

1. programs - whats the point of a smartphone if it doesnt have good programs/features youd use?
2. battery - its still a phone, so being able to use all the features and still have plenty of battery for actually talking is important
3. user interface - ideally would look really sweet and still be easy/fun to use

Re: We're giving away an HTC Fuze- Contest

1)First of all it's important to have Wi-Fi in a phone, i don't know what the reason may or may not be but there aren't phones out there that do but this phone does.
2)Well, the QWERTY keyboard is very important I have tried out on this phone at the AT&T store and all i have to say is that the keyboard's amazing and it feels comfortable when you text.
3)The phone needs to have windows mobile to be a successful smartphone and this phone has it.

Re: We're giving away an HTC Fuze- Contest

1. High-speed internet
2. Versatility
3. Form factor/appearance

The Touch HD would fit the bill perfectly except for #1 (in the US, anyway.) That makes the Fuze the next best choice for me.

Re: We're giving away an HTC Fuze- Contest

For me, the three things are
1. Processor Speed. I need something that can play my videos without jerkiness.
2. Expandable memory. Being able to put in my MicroSD card is vital.
3. GPS. I drive a lot and need to make sure that I can find my way around.

Thank you!

1. Call quality, including good volume. 2. 3G on GSM (we like to switch phones and SIM cards make this easy). 3. A quality web browser. I know you only asked for 3 but the 4th is that my wife loves the Fuze and I want to win it for her! We're both grad students and can't afford to buy it.

3. Battery Life (Tilt goes for 1day or less on a charge, would like more)

Re: We're giving away an HTC Fuze- Contest

I think there are three things that are very important for a good smartphone

First is ease of use from the OS. A fancy keyboard and fast 3G connections mean nothing if someone has to go through 5 different menus just to change the sound profile.

Second is hardware quality. A smartphone is something someone will rely on and it cant lose a button or start shutting down by itself.

Third is connectivity. A smartphone was designed to be used anywhere at anytime. Whether its global 3G or Wi-Fi, it must be able to provide easy access that the smartphone owner requires

Question: What 3 features are most important to you in a smartphone?

1. WiFi - The phone HAS to have Wifi because if I don't sign up for a data plan, I can still use WiFi to connect to the net.

2. Physical keyboard - Coming from a Treo 700wx, I prefer the feel of a physical keyboard whether it is a slide keyboard or otherwise.

3. Windows Mobile OS - While there might be some stability issues, I like my phones with WM5/6 because no other OS offers the extensive ability to truly customize your phone to your liking. I love to tweak my phone to maximize its performance and looks.

I just discovered MobileTechReview.com and would like to thank you guys and gals for hosting this awesome contest. *fingers crossed*

1. Wi-Fi: Definitely number 1 on my list for not only the ability to connect outside of ATT's 3G, but when in buildings which may have poor network reception I can just jump on the local wi-fi.

2. QWERTY Keyboard: This makes life so much easier when typing messages and email.

3. Calendar Sync
