Altek Unveils Camera Phone with 12.2-Megapixel CCD Sensor and 3x Optical Zoom

At a technology exchange conference in Beijing, Taiwan-based digital camera maker Altek showcased its first camera phone, the T8680, a thick phone with a 12.2 megapixel camera that has 3x optical zoom. The camera phone can also record video with audio and has a large 3-inch touch screen display.



According to digitimes in Taiwain, "the model will be launched in the China and Taiwan markets at recommended retail prices of 3,000 yuan (US$439) and NT$14,000 (US$427), respectively, in September 2009."
