Lenovo IdeaPad U260 Review

Apple haters rejoice, now there's a Windows ultraportable notebook that looks and feels every bit as good as the MacBook Air, if not better. The Lenovo U260 is what we'd call a designer notebook: it pays extreme attention to design, surface materials, ergonomics and quality. It's unique looking and attractive as all heck. But it's not a dummy thanks to a ULV Core i5 CPU with 2 cores and 4 threads, 4 gigs of RAM, a 320 gig hard drive and Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.

The Lenovo features a rare 12.5" display size with 1366 x 768 resolution-- no tiny text as squinted at on 11.6" laptops. Better yet, it's a matte display with deep blacks and rich colors. Throw in the usual excellent Lenovo island style keyboard and a large glass trackpad and you've got usability heaven. The drawbacks? There isn't a super-abundance of ports though you do get HDMI and Ethernet, and that battery is sealed inside that lovely 3 lb., 0.7 inch thin magnesium alloy encased charmer.
