Hands-on With the Huawei IDEOS X5 Android Smartphone

Huawei Device has officially announced entrance of the US smartphone market today by unveiling the the IDEOS X5 Android smartphone. The Huawei IDEOS X5 runs on MSM 7230 CPU with Android 2.2 Froyo, and it has a 3.8" capacitive touch screen, a 5 megapixel camera with 720p video recording and playback, 4GB storage, and WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, microSD card slot and GPS.

The Huawei IDEOS X5 is a quad band GSM phone with WCDMA 900/2100 MHz HSDPA 7.2Mbps. The IDEOS X5 has the "Starwars" style menu UI and features SWYPE input. Built-in applications have like the camera has customized menus and UI that seem intuitive. 3D gaming feels fast, and so does web browsing.

It's also worth mentioning that Huawei makes millions of phones branded by vendors worldwide. The IDEOS marked the new era for Huawei as a stand-alone brand.

The IDEOS X5 key features:
? a 3.8 inch multiple touch screen with easy-to-use SWYPE input and voice recognition for additional convenience
? an ultra-slim width of 11.4mm, curved edges and brush metal coating to serve as an ideal everyday accessory
? a 5 mega pixel camera with 720p high definition video recording and playback
