Hands on with the Acer Iconia Tab A500 Android tablet with 4G LTE

At CES we got to spend some time with the Acer Iconia Tab A500 tablet, which looks like one of the hotter 10" Android tablets along with the Motorola Xoom. The Iconia A500 will have Verizon 4G LTE and WiFi, and is due out in April. No prcing yet, but Acer says it will sell for less than the iPad.

The Acer feels lighter than the iPad, but it has heft to it, and the metal appointments give it a very classy look.

The Acer Iconia Tab A500 will run Gingerbread, but like the Motorola Xoom they were showing it with OS 2.2 Froyo (looks like Google isn't letting manufacturers show Honeycomb).

Specs are sweet:

Honeycomb, Android OS 3
1 gig RAm
16 gigs storage
5 MP rear camera and 2 MP front camera
NVIDIA Tegra 2 with GeForce graphics running at 1GHz
mini HDMI
full sized USB port and micro USB port
4G Verizon LTE
10" capcitive display, 1280 x 800 resolution with an 80 degree viewing angle

The Dell Streak 7 and Acer Iconia Tab A500:

We'll post a video of the Iconia A500 soon.
