iPhone Game Review: Grim Joggers

A group of people jogging to burn calories just got deadly with Grim Joggers. As you lead a group of people through 4 places to "burn" your calories it's your duty to make them avoid their grim fate....death! Grim Joggers is a unique 2D platformer that pits you to lead a group of joggers through countless obstacles and traps in different settings. The gameplay is quite different from a normal 2D side scroller game and it can be very brutal yet very addictive!
You are the Grim Jogger and your sole duty is to jog with a group of people and to try to not die. If you?ve played Canablat then Grim Joggers is will seem familiar. Big differences between these two games are you look different and you also have 14 other people jogging with you (the NPCs played by CPUs of course).
In Grim Joggers you're jogging alongside 14 other people who mimic your every move. You have 4 different worlds to choose from; each with their own deadly obstacles meant to kill. In Grim Joggers you run till you drop, quite literally! Each world has its own ?theme? like the underground cavern, grass land, snowy ledges and a juggle. Each world also has its own deadly traps and soon after you start the run you realize just how many ways you and your little group can die.
The fun never ends as each world is endless and keeps going on and on until you lose all your members. When you start a run in Grim Joggers for every 200km you run you pass a check point and can gain more points depending on how much people you had left. The fun doesn't stop even after you lose because after you die you are given your score and you get a food fact! If you fulfill certain conditions you can unlock other worlds until you have all 4. Depending on what you do you can unlock over 30 achievements in the Game Center.
Grim Joggers has tons of replay value and it's pretty fun just chilling with other Joggers and running to their deaths. The Developers have done nothing short of perfection in the gameplay department.
The graphics certain made a big impression, as I knew this game was golden the moment I set eyes on it. Crisp graphics, a distinct feel to it, and the graphics in general just felt fit with everything perfectly. The graphics hugely resembles that of Super Quick Hook and Hook Worlds and those games set the golden standard.
The controls are fairly simple and easy to use; all you need to do is tap to jump and tap again in the air to do a double jump. Controls work very smoothly and add overall fun to the gameplay.
Grim Joggers has great music to match the outstanding graphics and fun gameplay. Grim Jogger manages to blend the music with the "Theme" of the world perfectly making the game a very enjoyable one. Of course it helps that the quality of the music is stupendous. Also the developers did a little extra in the sound FX department that helps create an immersive environment for the gameplay. If you don't like the music the game offers an option to play your own iPod music.
Grim Joggers is a fun game full of daring Joggers, traps, and deadly worlds. What's not to like about it?! The game does have a tiny bit of blood, but very tiny in case you have any aversion to bloody scenes. The game has tons of gameplay and can become quite addictive. You will enjoy looking at the graphics and listening to the game audio. If you are a platformer fan, Grim Joggers is a must check out game!
