HTC EVO View 4G Video Review, 7" Android Tablet on Sprint

Not long after HTC launched their WiFi only HTC Flyer at Best Buy, Sprint jumped in the game with their 4G version. The EVO View 4G is the same as the Flyer with a few important additions: it has more storage and a 3G/4G radio for wide area networking.

The EVO View 4G also gets a uniform dark gray metallic back that we personally prefer to the Flyer's appliance white. The View 4G sells for $399 with a 2 year contract, and for a limited time (whatever that means), Sprint is including the lovely optional $80 stylus that lets you take notes, draw and ink in the ebook reader. That's only $100 less than the WiFi-only Flyer, but you do get extra storage and 4G along with that pen. Of course, you suffer a 2 year contract for the price.

Like the Flyer, the HTC EVO View 4G runs Android OS 2.3.3 Gingerbread with HTC Sense 2.1 for tablets (equivalent to HTC Sense 3.0 for phones). It has a single core 1.5GHz Snapdragon CPU, 32 gigs of storage, a gig of RAM, a rear 5MP camera and front 1.3MP camera, GPS, Bluetooth and a microSD card slot. We found performance to be identical to the Flyer.

Do read our HTC Flyer review to get all the details on the hardware and software. Of course, Sprint adds several of their apps too, and that's covered in our video review. The EVO View 4G will be available June 24, along with the HTC EVO 3D.
