Barnes and Noble Offers Nook Readers with Free Books for Students

Barnes and Noble today announced a new deal for back to school shoppers: more than $100 in free books, study tools with the purchase of a new NOOK product. The new limited-time promotion includes a complimentary academic content package with purchase of The All-New NOOK or NOOK Color today through September 11. Students and anyone who wants to catch up on the classics can enjoy a free collection of 12 Barnes and Noble Classics NOOK Books and 12 SparkNotes to kick off the back-to-school season, along with other complementary items from Barnes and Noble including three NOOK Study guides and four NOOK Apps to help stay organized. Upon registering their new devices, customers who purchase the All-New NOOK or NOOK Color during the back-to-school promotional period will receive an e-mail with unique access codes to download their free content. Consumers will be able to enjoy classics such as A Tale of Two Cities, Beowulf, Ivanhoe, Crime and Punishment and The Portrait of the Artist As A Young Man and others, and popular Spark Notes guides, including To Kill a Mockingbird, The Great Gatsby, The Catcher in the Rye, and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. All those books are already free from Google Books (and the Kindle Store, for that matter)! So I guess the promo is mainly that you are getting the Spark Notes guides...
