Lenovo Announces IdeaPad A1 7" Android Tablet

While Samsung was going for the high end market with their Galaxy Tab 7.7 announced at IFA today, Lenovo's going for the budget segment with their IdeaPad A1 7" Android tablet that starts at just $199. The tablet run Android OS 2.3 Gingerbread on a single core 1GHz ARM Cortex A89 CPU.

The IdeaPad A1 has a 1024 x 600 pixel capacitive multi-touch display, WiFi, Bluetooth and a GPS. The tablet comes in several colors and features Lenovo's signature inner magnesium alloy roll cage design.

Like its bigger brother the IdeaPad K1, it will come bundled with lots of software, including both the Android Market and Lenovo's own app store, Lenovo SocialTouch social networking software, App Zone and more.

It weighs 14 ounces, is 0.47" thick, has dual 3 megapixel cameras, a microSD card slot, 7 hours of claimed battery life and 16 or 32 gigs of storage. It will be available this fall.
