PS Vita Apps Downloadable Now: Netflix, Twitter, Facebook and Flickr

This is launch day for the Sony PS Vita portable game console, and as promised, Netflix, Twitter, Facebook and Flickr apps are now available for download. We're still waiting for Skype. Simply launch the PS Store on the device and browse through the long lists of New Releases or do a search (which works quite well).

Netflix works like a charm and the videos look very sharp. We had no trouble streaming over WiFi and 3G. The Twitter app, developed by Sony, is actually pretty sweet, and I like it better than several smartphone apps for this 140 characters of social networking goodness. Likewise, Facebook is looking good. These apps are free downloads, so give them a try with your brand new Vita if you're not too busy playing Uncharted: Golden Abyss or wipEout 2048. And don't forget to peruse our PS Vita review.
