Our seriously in-depth written review of the Sony Vaio S 13.3 Premium model covers every nook and cranny of this powerful but light third gen Intel Ivy Bridge notebook. The Vaio S 13" line starts at $799, and we take a look at the $1,199 premium model with a carbon fiber casing, switchable Intel HD 4000 and NVidia GT640M LE graphics, 1600 x 900 matte display, backlit keyboard and a full mobile 2.5GHz Intel Core i5 CPU (Core i7 is optional). The machine has a 640 gig 7200 RPM hard drive, 6 gigs of RAM and an internal DVD burner. All that in a 3.69 pound, 0.90" machine. For about the same price as many Ultrabooks and just a bit more weight, the Vaio S 13.3 (even non-premium) offers a lot more processing power, switchable graphics and an optical drive. No wonder Sony has a reputation for making good things in small packages. Read our Sony Vaio S 13.3 review - |
