Macally has released a line of accessories for the new iPhone, iPod and iPad models with Lightning connector. The Macally Charge and Sync Dock can hold your iDevice in place while charging and syncing via the dock. The dock can charge your iDevice with Lightning port via either computer or AC outlet and it's strong and hefty enough to hold the largest iPad steadily. The Macally Charge and Sync Dock comes in white only.

Design and Features

The Macally Charge and Sync Dock comes in a shiny, high gloss white finish that matches well with Apple's clean product design. It goes well with both black and white iPhone 5 colors and iPad 4 with Retina and all the iPod colors. It's compatible with the 4th gen iPad with Retina, the iPad mini, the iPhone 5, the iPod touch 5th gen and the iPod nano 7th gen. The curved stand not only gives the dock the stability when holding an iDevice but also provides more added weight to prevent the device from tipping over, especially when you dock and charge the large 9.7" iPad 4. The dock weighs 11.2 oz.

The Lightning port lives in the front of the dock and it has small degrees of swivel that allows you to dock your device even with a thick case. For the large devices such as the iPad and the iPad mini, the dock offers removable rubber feet to hold the device steadier. You can remove these rubber feet if your device has a thick case and needs the space for the Lightning port to connect. The rubber feet use adhesive that's reusable, and this means you can dock/charge your iPad with or without the case. The Macally Charge and Sync Dock has two long rubber strips on the bottom to prevent the dock from sliding on slippery surface.

The Macally Charge and Sync Dock offers two ways to charge your device: via computer or AC outlet. The dock comes with a USB to micro USB cable for charging and syncing your mobile device using a computer, and a 12W (5V/2.4A) AC charger to charge your device via wall outlet. As you'd expect, computer USB charging method doesn't charge your iPad just as if you connect your iPad to your computer via its included cable, but you can sync the iPad via the Macally Charge and Sync Dock. Using the AC charger, your iDevice will charge faster thanks to the fast charging capability.

Conclusion

If you need to keep your iPhone, iPod or iPad out of the clutter on your desk or position it at an angle where you can see and use the screen while it's charging, the Macally Charge and Sync Dock can do the trick. Its simple and clean design makes it suitable for any environment and it works with either computer charging and syncing or AC charging. The weight helps hold the large iPad steady and the Lightning connector and dock design allow you to use your device with the dock even when it's in a case.
