On June 22nd, ACCESS announced NetFront v3.2 for Pocket PC 2003 and
2003 Second Edition. NetFront is an excellent web browser, and we reviewed the 3.1 version here. Now ACCESS has released version 3.2 with support for Windows Mobile 2003 SE which should mean that landscape and VGA are supported (not all user interface elements resized correctly in version 3.1).

New in version 3.2 are:

-Rapid-Render(TM)
-JV-Lite 2, J2ME CDC compatible Java VM
-Supports Pocket PC 2003 and 2003 Second Edition
-Supports Macromedia Flash(R)

NetFront boasts several features not found in the Pocket IE included with Pocket PCs:

-Multi-Window Display
-Smart-Fit-Rendering(TM)
-Internet Search Bar
-Auto-Cruise
-Drag-Scroll
-Page Memo
-External Application Helper
-Save Image

It supports just about every standard, including HTML4.01 + cHTML, XHTML, JavaScript 1.5, SSL 2.0 and 3.0, TLS1.0 (128bit), DOM Level 1 and 2,Dynamic HTML, css, and GIF, JPEG, PNG, MNG, BMP image formats.

NetFront with the Java VM costs $29.80 US, and those who purchased version 3.1 can buy the upgrade for $14.80. The software will be available on June 23, 2005 from Handango . Registered users of NetFront 3.1 should receive a discount promotional code to use at Handango for the upgade pricing.
