Averatec today announced its largest form factor notebook to date with the introduction of the 17-inch widescreen, 7100 Series infotainment notebook.
Powered by AMD Turion 64 mobile technology, the 7100 Series delivers an outstanding digital entertainment experience coupled with high-performance processing designed to handle today's demanding business applications.
With its sleek black styling, trim 1-inch profile, and weighing in at an industry-light 7.2 pounds, the 7100 Series features a super-bright 17-inch WXGA widescreen display with Averatec's distinctive AveraBrite technology. This innovative technology features a brighter, crystal-clear screen that's ideal for displaying favorite DVDs, videos, digital photos or graphics-intensive presentations.
The 7100 Series offers advanced power management tools and the latest wireless technologies to keep users easily connected at home or while traveling. With an integrated Gigabit wired network, which is up to 10 times faster than standard 100-Mbit Ethernet, the model provides the fastest network connection available today. A full-featured notebook, the 7100 Series offers a standard full-size keyboard with a separate full-size numeric keypad, memory expandable to 2 GB, an 80 or 100 GB hard drive, a built-in dual-layer DVD/CD burner and an integrated 5-in-1 media card reader that supports xD, MS, MS PRO, MMC and SD memory card formats. Offered with either Microsoft® Windows® XP Home, Professional or Media Center Edition installed, the 7100 Series is also Microsoft Windows Vista-capable. Providing customers with complete online protection, Averatec 7100 Series notebooks come fully loaded with a trial version of ZoneAlarm® Internet Security Suite 6.0. This best-of-breed firewall, anti-spam and antivirus protection software is designed to provide comprehensive protection against malicious hackers, spyware, worms, identity thieves, spam and data theft. In addition, the notebook includes Phoenix FirstWare Recover software and a trial version of the Recover Pro software, a recovery solution that stores user data, applications and the operating system in the secured host-protected area (HPA) of the hard drive.
