Averatec today announced the expansion of its feather-light portable notebook line with the introduction of the 1100 Series. Featuring sleek black-and-silver styling, the compact, lightweight notebook delivers powerful computing capabilities driven by Intel Centrino Mobile Technology.
Averatec's lightest notebook offering, the 1100 Series weighs in at only 3.4 pounds. The ultra-portable notebook has an attractive black exterior and streamlined, one inch-thin, small profile. With a 10.6-inch WXGA wide screen with unique AveraBrite™ technology, Averatec's 1100 Series offers a brighter, more brilliant screen for crystal-clear viewing even outdoors. With all this technology packed into such a small package, the 1100 Series is still able to provide up to five hours of battery life with its advanced lithium ion battery.
The 1100 notebook computer features Intel Centrino Mobile Technology powered by an Intel Pentium M processor Ultra Low Voltage 733. Designed for users requiring advanced mobility, Averatec's notebook features a high-speed Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG Network Connection supporting 802.11b/g wireless connectivity. The notebook also features a built-in dual-layer DVD burner.
The 1100 Series combines Intel's best mobile CPU with high-speed wireless communications and advanced storage options. The sleek and lightweight notebook has an 80GB hard drive and offers 1GB memory. With future expandability in mind, the 1100 Series is built with two memory slots to accommodate up to 2GB of memory. The notebook includes an IEEE 1394 Firewire port along with an integrated 4-in-1 media card reader supporting MS, MS PRO, MMC and SD media formats for the easy transfer of digital photos and other stored data files.
The 1100 Series is offered with Microsoft Windows®XP Professional. Addressing the increased security needs of the always-connected digital age, the Averatec 1100 Series notebook delivers comprehensive online protection with a trial version of Norton Anti-Virus software. In addition, the 1100 Series includes a trial version of Phoenix FirstWare Recover Pro software that stores user data, applications and the operating system in the secure, host-protected area (HPA) of the hard drive. After the trial period concludes, users still have the factory recovery solution, which can restore the computer to its original factory condition in the event of an unrecoverable virus, worm or malware attack.
The 1100 Series is available at retailers including Best Buy, Micro Center and Future Shop, as well as Averatec's online retail partners including NewEgg.com, Buy.com and TigerDirect.com.
