Jon Rubenstein and Ed Colligan of Palm delivered Palm's press conference big news: palm webOS and the Palm Pre smartphone.
The new OS is designed to be easy in terms of application development-- no new programming languages to learn. If you can write in HTML, CSS and Javascript, you can design applications for the new platform. It looks sweet in terms of attractiveness, ease of use and access to all things Internet. The OS and the Pre definitely target the iPhone when it comes to features and design. But they add a few hardware goodies that give it an edge: QWERTY hardware keyboard and a removable battery.
The new device running palm webOS is called the Palm Pre and it will be exclusively for Sprint.
